Golden Ember began as my way of figuring out why coffee at home never tasted how I wanted. Learning to roast led me into flavor, science, and better ingredients—but the part I fell in love with was explaining it in normal-people language. Now I roast small-batch coffee in Cedar Rapids and focus on teaching: through flights, events, and brew resources that help you understand your own taste, make sense of all the options, and feel confident brewing coffee you honestly enjoy.
